Santuario delle Arti e del Mistero
Uno dei tre grandi santuari di Benzaiten in Giappone. Sito mistico venerato dagli artisti come potente luogo spirituale.
Storia del santuario
Tenkawa Daibenzaiten Sha is one of Japan's three great Benzaiten shrines, dedicated to the goddess of water, music, and the arts. Founded in the 7th century by the mountain ascetic priest En no Gyoja, the shrine is located deep in the sacred Yoshino mountains of Nara Prefecture. The shrine has long been associated with artistic inspiration and spiritual awakening.
Throughout history, the shrine has attracted artists, musicians, and spiritual seekers drawn by its reputation as a place where creative inspiration flows freely. The remote mountain location has preserved its pristine atmosphere, and the shrine is considered one of the most spiritually potent sites on the Kii Peninsula.

Cosa vedere
The shrine is nestled in a deep mountain valley surrounded by ancient cedar forests and clear mountain streams. The main hall houses a seated figure of Benzaiten holding her signature biwa (lute), emphasizing her role as patron of music and the arts. The shrine's Noh stage is one of the finest in the region, used for sacred performances.
The nearby Tenkawa River is renowned for its crystal-clear waters and is designated as one of Japan's 100 best water sources. The entire area radiates a sense of sacred solitude, with mist often shrouding the mountains and adding to the mystical atmosphere.
